"We have always used clear packing tape to act as a clamp when gluing our miters - the tenso clips are slowly changing that process in our shop. There is a fair amount of labor in taping the joints as well as peeling the tape off, when removing the tape we use acetone to release the tape to minimize grain tear, even with the acetone there is usually a place or two where the grain tears and takes extra time in the finish room to repair or even replace a part. The clips eliminate the tape and that process, yes the clips cost $1.00 each but what does your labor cost to tape, remove the tape and replace defective parts?"
